Fall is here and in less than a week, October will be too. While that means Halloween is around the corner, it also means that September’s Hunger Action Month is coming to an end.

Have you taken action yet to fight hunger with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank?

So far in September, the Food Bank has offered fundraising and volunteer opportunities and hosted events like the YP Pantry’s Hunger Action Month Happy Hour at Town Hall.

Of course, there was also last week’s Taste of the Browns fundraiser. 25+ restaurants filled First Energy Stadium, offering such delicious dishes as Hodge’s shrimp, chorizo and grits; Corleone’s Ristorante’s calamari steak; Momocho’s outstanding chicken tacos; and Little Devil Cupcakery’s sweets.

Attendees were also able to hang out with Browns players like Joe Haden (and his AWESOME shoes), Chomps and Brownie the Elf.

By the end of the night, Taste of the Browns raised over $180,000 for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, equivalent to 720,000 meals for Northeast Ohio’s hungry.

The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is currently in the running for a huge grant from Walmart. Walmart has committed to donating $3 million divided between 50 food banks across the country, and those 50 food banks will be selected by YOU.
